This weekend I had to go up in the attic for our Halloween and fall decorations. I took my camera and snapped a few photos of the treasures I have stored away. Most are sentimental treasures from family members. I have a couple of vintage fans from my great aunt. I don't have them in the house because they actually work and the thought of them being used scares me with two little ones. I have some other neat items from her as well. Most of the other items are from my grandparents--the butter churn, washboard, and so many other things I didn't photograph. They no longer live in their home (an old farmhouse that they built). My grandmother is in the nursing home and my grandfather is in assisted living. A few of the things in my attic are from other places. For example, the old window was rescued from my neighbor's trash pile just a few weeks ago. The old army trunk was bought at a garage sale when I lived in Seattle almost ten years ago. I'm not sure what I want to do with them.
Maybe someday I will find the perfect place for these special pieces in my home. For now they will stay hidden away in my little attic.
Ohh... looks like some *fabulous* treasures hidden up there! I love the items that have special meaning behind them! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see those things in your new house...whenever that may be, of course!
ReplyDeleteTreasures galore! I love that they've come from a variety of places and are waiting patiently for just the right opportunity to be put to use.

Such treasure. I love that army trunk and if you don't find a home for it I will come and get it, hehe. All of the stuff in beautiful but my favorites are the butter churn, can you imagine how much butter was made in it--so cool, and I love the fans. Thank you so much for linking up, hope you are staying warm.
