InstaSaturday

We were busy yesterday so I didn't have a chance to post all of my phone pics for the week.

Hope you don't mind that it's a day late.  Instead of InstaFriday we'll have InstaSaturday.  I doubt anyone was holding their breath waiting to see ;)

We started off the week with the perfect day on Sunday.  We attended church and then spent a wonderful afternoon together on Sunday doing fun Christmas stuff.

I love this season!

On Sunday the boys and I made cinnamon salt dough ornaments for the mini Christmas tree in the kitchen.  The cinnamon makes the house smell amazing.  It feels like I spend a lot of time washing dishes and looking at this little tree with its sweet ornaments makes me happy.  I used the recipe found here.

While the ornaments baked in the oven, I watched a Hallmark Christmas movie.  Do you love them as much as I do?  This year, I've been watching Trading Christmas over and over and over.  The movies are also very family friendly so it doesn't matter if the boys are in the room while they are on.

Sorry if this offends anyone.  Maybe I'm easily amused.  Mark and I searched and searched for this limited edition ice cream.  It was tough to find.  It's name comes from a hilarious SNL skit with Alec Baldwin and NPR's Delicious Dish.  Google it and watch the video.  FUNNY!

Have you tried Peanut Butter & Co peanut butter?
The White Chocolate Wonderful is indeed wonderful!  The Dark Chocolate Dreams is delicious, but I prefer Nutella for a chocolate fix.  I've been having the white chocolate wonderful for breakfast each morning on a piece of whole wheat toast.

Fast food is limited in a small town.  This isn't even in the small town where we live.  We only have a Sonic, Dairy Queen and some local restaurants.  This is in the small town a few miles away.  I didn't feel like cooking so this is what was for dinner one night.

We made a trip to IKEA to get some storage units for Ben's room.

Will didn't want to stop spinning in the chair for me to take his photo.  He's not very happy about being interrupted.

Ben found a spinning chair, too.

There they are spinning away!

I haven't been to IKEA in a couple of months.  These cute fruits and veggies were new.

I treated myself to a large Peppermint Hot Chocolate, which I think ended up being a Peppermint Mocha.

Mark made a Starbucks stop and got his usual--Chai Tea Latte,

Earlier this week we had to pick up a few things from Wal-Mart.  The boys love putting money in the red bucket.  Years ago my grandpa used to volunteer to ring the bell.  Seeing this made me think of him.

I was raised in the country.  If you didn't grow up in rural area, maybe you don't understand the simplicity and ease of country living.  I love living in the country.  I enjoy the convenience of being close to the Dallas suburbs, but I'd never want to live in the city (been there done that).  Nothing can beat a peaceful drive through the country.  We barely met a car on this drive.

  2. I feel the same way about living in the country. We went to college in San Diego, lived in Orange County, and now live in a rural town in San Diego County. I love it! That SNL skit is one of my favorites ever!
