Warby Parker Waterway Collection

You guys might not be familiar with Warby Parker, which is why I'm happy to introduce you.  I first learned about Warby Parker glasses through social media, and then my friends started buying their glasses.  Warby Parker offers affordable eyeglasses and sunglasses, and they are socially conscious with their Do Good program.  Their glasses are stylish and hip, but don't associate them with only being geek chic.  They have numerous styles in different colors, and I'm confident you could find something that suits you.   I visited the Warby Parker store in Dallas last week and picked out my first pair of glasses.  I fell in love with the Sims (in Violet Magnolia color, in case you were wondering).  The only problem I had was limiting myself to one pair, and that's a good problem to have, right?

 I have my eyes on the Piper sunglasses from the Waterway Collection that's being released today.  This collection will give you even more options from their already excellent selection.

Here's the official word from Warby Parker:

We took five favorites for a quick dip, and
they’re more refreshing than ever.
A few favorite silhouettes—Welty, Bensen, Piper,
Griffin, and Percey—get a kick in the pants
(temples?) with shoreline shades like Sand
Castle and Marine Pebble.

Introducing the Waterway Collection—
inspired by warm coastal travels and
landlocked staycations by the pool. Because
summer is for relaxing.
The Waterway Collection is available August 5
and in stores and showrooms.

Well said, Warby Parker.

The Waterway Collection made clever changes--think standard Warby Parker style with a summer vibe.

My favorite pair of sunglasses--Piper.

When Warby Parker sent over the images for me to share with you, this one immediately stood out as a favorite.
The Griffin sunglasses are as fun as this photo.

Bensen in Blue Slate Fade
I'm a big fan of the fade at the bottom.  The change of color is a nice touch.

Percy in Crystal--how very modern chic.

If the blue waters of the Caribbean and traditional tortoise had a baby, it would be the good-looking Welty glasses in Marine Pebble.

Trend Spin Linkup, Chambray

It's been a long time since I posted anything about clothes on the ol' blog.  I once was a faithful blogger who shared every week What I Wore outfits.  Those days seem long gone, not that anyone misses them anyway. ;)

Today on Instagram my friend Cameron shared this fun linkup.  It's focused on a specific trend--this week chambray.  When I saw the focus I remembered that I'd taken a few photos with my phone of two outfits wearing chambray.  I'm sure my DSLR would have taken much better photos, but this will have to do.  Sorry for the poor quality.

Outfit #1
Pink shorts: Gap outlet
Sandals: Kenneth Cole Reaction purchased at DSW
Belt: Nordstrom Rack
Chambray shirt: Old Navy

Outfit #2
Skirt: Banana Republic outlet (new this year)
Layering tank: Old Navy
Chambray shirt is same from above.
*Question for anyone who reads this.  What other type of shirt or top would you wear with this skirt?  I love the skirt, but can't think of any other combo to wear it with.  Thanks!

Get Pin-Spired #2

Get Pin-Spired #2

Dress: Old Navy
Cardi: J Crew outlet
Tights: Gap
Suede Wedges: Target

Who doesn't love Reese?!?  She's awesome!

Black jeggings: Gap outlet
Tunic: Gap
Cardi: Target
Brown boots: DSW

I didn't add a scarf, but these outfits inspired the one above.

Skinny jeans and flannel: Target
Boots: DSW

This photo doesn't show an entire outfit, but this image made me want to move to a lake house and wear flannel all the time.  In reality, I don't live near a lake and this is the only flannel shirt I own.  A girl can dream, right?
And, I can never pull off the messy bun look, but I still try!

Get Pin-spired {Black + Brown}

I probably should have used Mel's photo from a couple of weeks ago when she wore a similar outfit.
Her cute outfit with the black dress was "pin-spired" from an image I'd saved on my "My Style" board, too.
I would have never worn the belt, dress and boots together if I hadn't seen others do it first.  I ended up getting a lot of compliments, go figure!

Sharing our pinterest inspired outfits is a fun challenge.  I'm not sure how many I can pull off, but it will be a fun to try.

What I Wore Wednesday {September 2012}

What I Wore Wednesday {September 2012}

The weather in Texas did not get the memo that fall is here.  In most of the photos I'm wearing clothes that I wear during the summer.  We had just a couple of days of cooler weather.  It usually doesn't get cold in Texas until November.  I'd love to wear cardigans and more layers, but that's impossible with the temperatures around here.

I only took photos for 10 outfits.  As usual, I'm a month behind in getting my WIWW posted.

What I Wore Wednesday {August 2012}

What I Wore Wednesday {August 2012}

It's been so long since I've done a WIWW post that I had a difficult time remembering how I usually do these posts.

I'm so behind on blogging!  I still have vacation photos from July to post.  I will eventually get to blog about everything I want to, but the beginning of the school year is hectic with little time for blogging.  It may be Christmas break when I finally get around to it, but I will blog about all of our road trip to New Mexico!

In keeping with the  theme that I'm very behind, I thought I'd do a WIWW post with photos of my outfits from August NOT September.

That's my excuse for still wearing white.  It was BEFORE Labor Day!

*Disclaimer
I'm definitely not a fashionista.  I'm a mom who dresses like a mom :)
I like to shop. I buy most, if not all, of my clothes on sale.
I dress in clothes that make me happy.  Not to impress :)

One more thing...I'm ready for cooler weather and fall temps.  I've had enough of the summer heat and humidity.  Enough!
